Starting with this academic year – 2009/2010 – IEHEI is introducing considerable changes in its traditional core modules.
Adapting to the latest developments in these academic fields, IEHEI introduces vital changes.
The "Democracy and Society” module is now
called "Economy and Globalisation” and is taught by Prof. Jean-Claude Verez and
Prof. Laurent
Baechler in Nice and Istanbul branches respectively. The course builds
on the globalisation aspects of the traditional module, but is complimented by
a sound introduction into the international economy.
The "Federalism” module is now called "Federalism and Governance”
and – apart from the usual federalism-related issues – it now tackles the
theories of democracy, the democratic political systems and other topics
previously covered by the Democracy and Society module. Prof. Frederic Lepine
remains responsible for this part of the MAES curriculum.
There are no major changes in the "International
Relations” syllabus, however it is now taught by both Prof. Dagmar Roettsches – Dubois and Prof. Matthias
Waechter.
The only course which stays unchanged is
the "European Integration” where Prof. Hartmut Marhold remains in charge .
